Bookami® Installation and Setup\Reinstalling and Restoring From a Backup

Reinstalling and Restoring From a Backup

Use this option if you have had a need to reinstall Bookami® on your computer and have a backup available.

Restoring from the backup will ensure you keep all of your data from before the issue that caused you to have to reinstall.

It is recommended that you take regular backups from Bookami and store this on an external device or cloud service.

Upon choosing to reinstall from a backup, you will be asked to select the backup file from which you want to restore. All Bookami backup files have the following naming convention…

BKA_YYYYMMDD_HHMM_vXXX

Where:

YYYY – the year when the backup was made.

MM – the month when the backup was made.

DD – the day when the backup was made.

HH – the hour when the backup was made.

MM – the minute when the backup was made.

vXXX – the version number that this backup is compatible with

For example, if you made a backup on 1st March 2016 at 13:05 and you were using Bookami® version 2.1.0, your backup would be named:

BKA_20160301_1305_v210.mci

If you receive any error messages during restoring, please see the help Section on Error Messages for help and advice.
